We added the hydr. impact wrench to the other on board hand tools. The impact wrench is very usefull for tire change.

The Hannibal 8 and crew humbly request your vote. This truck attends car shows, volunteer service projects, Veterans and military oriented events serving as a good will ambassador to the community. Its not done for any glory, but maybe for the chance for an old Vet to stop, take a longing gander reminded of their fleeting youth and maybe offer up a story of their service to our nation.

But, most importantly, it also promotes and encourages monetary or time donations to the crew's monthly benefiting Veterans' charities:
Semper Fi Fund/America's Fund, USO, Fisher House

In addition to support for law enforcement (which the Delta element is a 24 year Veteran of) and their support of Breast Cancer Awareness and Research, funds this past year were raised in excess of $2000 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF)
https://www.bcrf.org/ and to the Pink Patch Project http://www.irwindaleca.gov/index.aspx?NID=363.

The Hannibal 8 is a proud supporter of these causes putting the money where the mouth is!

Respectfully submitted...
With all the worthy contestants, the extra's, additional details, and background (in this case, tailgate) have to decide the vote. These are very worthy causes supported here. Gets my vote. Secondary effect is that these efforts help giving our hobby a better image.

If you think , what´s about Migginsbros rarely MV ? There is a relative big community in Steelsoldiers forum who care about this Freightliner Unimog FLU419. More than a few work hard with these MV. Other meet each other at rallys or cultivate their hobby in another manner.

1986 M1008 Easter Find 2015

I bought this truck back in 1995 and sold it to a local man/friend. It was running 19 years and he decided to give it up for inspection reasons. It had a few rust and starting issues. It was only driven 25K miles in the 19 years it was gone. 001.jpg002.jpg003.jpg004.jpg005.jpg006.jpg009.jpg008.jpg010.jpg011.jpgI was up for the challenge. I was only able to get the deal if I removed the truck right away. I tow barred it home. I didn't want to start it up at the owners house. he may have sellers remorse. It's a long story but I never did buy the truck. I offered my assistance and extended a hand to a good friend. Mutual project. Done my way or not at all.

DSCF4050.jpgDSCF4003.jpgDSCF4014.jpgDSCF4090.jpgThank you for looking. I built this all in a barn. With no heat. It was an inspiration. I hope it inspires you to take the time and do the job right. Not a perfect job but as well is I can do with what I have to work with. Thank you. Happy Thanksgiving.

It´s easier to work under the front hood if you detach the frontloader.
Only 2 Bolts and 4 hydr. cuplings to disconect.
Its recommended to use a engaged and secured jack to store.

Some more pics about servicing our FLU419 SEE. This year we changed the tires from OEM Michelin to Pirelli Pista. Same size but not so old and no lumps/bumps.
The pirellis were used as spare tires by the army. 5 years old but not really used and for a reasonable price.
tirechange 003.jpgtirechange 006.jpgtirechange 011.jpgtirechange 041.jpg

We take the opportunity to change the oil from the wheelside axel housings.

Happy Thanksgiving and a prosperous Black Friday.

The Stanley hyd. handtools are a very nice feature of our Freightliner Unimog 419 SEE (Small emplacement excavator)
