Don't know when I replied to this thread, but it keeps popping up in notifications......59 this year. Sometimes it feels like that long, but sometimes, not so much. This past year has been a bit rough with the 3 level fusion, but this will pass! Retired early, grand kids, lots of vacation time, working on fun old green stuff for a great place and guy. Don't think one could ask for anything better. Oh yeah, a wife that still digs me!

I am turning 37 this year...didn't think I was that age yet but math says so, so must be the case. Then if you think about it I do have a wife of almost 15 years and 8 kids and they take at least some time to create, so I guess time flys when your having fun.

You know, Ben_jamin_here, it's a funny coincidence but if you notice:

True, the problem is if I went off of birthday celebrations I would be like 50 or 60 because people wont coordinate with each other so I end up celebrating 2-3 times every year these days. This is not a problem other than it makes me age 2-3 birthday parties every year, so I loose track all the time and have to delete "years" off of my life every time somebody asks my age. Then when I finally do get to that age I am doing the math to make sure I have not been party tricked into getting older faster again. This is why I generally don't track my age anymore.

I got addicted to the green iron phase back when I was 25. 35 now. For some reason, I'm one of those people who cares less to celebrate my birthday. I only care to celebrate my kids birthdays. However! It does give me a reason to buy something for myself and it's usually one of those things that my old lady normally tells me we don't need it, but it's the day I get a pass, so I take it for all that I can in that aspect. When I bought my second deuce, it was a big purchase, so I used up my birthday and Christmas slots for that year, but it was well worth it imo.

After my first Grand Son was born, I told everyone to NOT even think about buying me anything for my birthday. I had everything a man could want now. After the second Grand Son was born, I was a "Rich Man!!"

I always tell people god and the devil are playing rock paper scissors over me . Nether one of them want me that's only reason I'm still alive. I'll probably end up out living all of friends. Lol , they usually just shake there head.

Update: I am now 66 years and 8 months.

So as already mentioned earlier, I am no longer in the youngster group of 51-60, but in the 60 and over bin.

Turns out that since getting 65, I qualified for Czech state pension, which once I get it is nice for one extra beer per month. Since July 6, being 66 and 7 months, I also qualify for the basic Dutch Old Age Support, minus 50% or so for all the years I was not in the Netherlands.

Together it is too much too starve on, but not enough to live from.

Luckily, when I was 64 years and 11 months, which is traditionally 1 month before standard European pension age, I got a 50% job with the Czech Academy of Sciences for four years. Not much, but a life line because apart from the earlier mentioned state supports, I do not have other pension provisions (like too many other people in Europe as well).

As another "first", since March I am finally officially using my CDL (for buses) again since decades. I am member of the support program of our Town of Nove Hrady (Czech for New Castle) for helping Ukraine people go the the registration location and doing the "medicine run" for our citizens. During the summer months, our aphotekary has closed and we shuttle people to the nearest town to pick up thier medicines.
