When I bought my CUCV, the owner did not have the ignition key, so I beat the old ignition lock out so I could turn the wheel. My question is do I now need to replace the entire steering column, or can I just replace the part I destroyed??:-(aua

It depends on what you destroyed.

Next time, just pull the steering wheel and remove the locks.

Also, they all have the same key, any of us would have sent you one.

Yeah, I have a buddy who has one, and his key didn't work. PO must have changed at some point. Anyway, we thought his key would work, it was away from my house and I didn't have tools to remove wheel, so I just did the best I could at the time.
