Changing out the inverter for a different used one gave me a little improvement, but it did not cure my trouble. The machine does not want to run in damp weather, even if it has been covered. Starts fine, then after three seconds the Internal Short light comes on and it dies. Now it will keep running (slowly) if I push/pull the emergency stop button as soon as the "short" light comes on. After it runs ten or fifteen minutes in this way, it usually drys out enough to run up to speed and make electricity, but only after I press the "reset" button and reset the breaker.
After it starts generating, it will run fine for ten minutes or so generating perfectly. Then the motor bogs and bucks and runs erratically. After a while of this, it will run fine again for a while. Then the cycle repeats. When it's running well, it could not be better, but it never lasts for long.
I need to make this thing work properly, but I'm out of my depth. Can anyone make a helpful suggestion? I would gladly take it to someone for troubleshooting, but I have no idea where. I'm in western North Carolina.
TIA
Jim
