My alternator quit about a month ago. I finally got around to replacing it thursday. Still no charge. Today I took the old one apart, when I did I expected the regulator to be shot. But one of negative stator wires was melted, and the stud it was soldiered to was broken. Has this happened to anyone else. Attached are some pics. The regulator was still good so I put it on the replacement alt and it started charging. Hopefully it will last awhile.

Thats probably for the best I went in there once looking for a 150 amp 12vdc circuit breaker(rear battery) and they told me no such thing existed
