The manual definately shows they were black. (just verified)

The manual also shows the bumpers and grille as being camo, which is not factory. ))

I kinda like the look of the non-camo grill and bumpers in the 383 green. I think the next NATO camo truck I do will sport this paint scheme. the trucks also looks good with blacked out grill and bumpers. But I never did that with the 383 green NATO scheme. The last trucks were urban camo with blacked out front and back. Also, the first truck I painted I did the wheels in green...not as nice a black.
