strange bump sound

I don't have any experiance with the blazer variant but had a LWB 74 truck with two piece drive shaft that destroyed a hanger bearing it had after I modified the engine to about 400HP. I would also look at the motor mounts and transmission mount again. If the motor mounts were bad it may cause the transmission mount to fail.

Are we talking about a n M1008? If your tire pressure isn't balanced, or tire wear is uneven, the Detroit Locker can make noticeable noises.

I forgot about the detroit locker. Mine used to makes all kinds of bumps, pings and other noises.
