Submarine Deuce

On a research on the excellent contemporary photographer Peter Stackpole I stumbled upon a photographic documentary from him of an event we all know from various youtube flics - the underwater crossing of a lake or river by an early deuce, must have been in 1951.

Yep that was in Fl, up the road from me in Weeki Wachi springs. I even asked if I could recreate the famous movie. I was of course given a resounding NO!!! dont even move my truck near the ramps.

I showed her the video of the submarine deuce and said That its our new vacation runner. I hope we have fun at the beach this year.

Would it be possible to find out something about the truck used by digging for the hood number 41087260 in some archive?

By the way, the original images are quite large (too large to post in a forum), to get them just do a google-image search with the expressions

Oh crap. That is the deuce that I just won on GL.

1. The seats were wet and I thought that it was just a bad soft top.
2. There was a snorkle and mask in the tool box.
3. Found minnows in the fuel tank.
4. Gauges were full of water.
5. I thought that some one for a joke bolted a prop on the rear axle yoke. Found prop works. Runner too!!!
6. Last owner/driver had his name on the door. Mike Nelson
7. While towing it home it was being chased by stray cats.

Anybody want to buy this from me?

It do have a 20 pack of rudder power sterring units in the bed!!! I will throw that in. Should be a big hit!!
