I know some guys want to put the biggest tires on a deuce that they can possibly find. The 1600s are just too big in my opinion. They look, well, grotesque. They almost rub the fenders. I always try to get people to stick with the stock sizes (900 or 1100), but, if you must convert your truck from a historic military vehicle to a monster truck go with the 1400s or, even better, the 14.5s.

there is a point on this where you get too big of a tire and then the engine doesn't have enough power to turn it...

keep that in mind when you are choosing big tires! :-D

I have 12" wide wheels with 6" of backspacing. That puts the hub in the center of the wheel, and gives me what I think is the correct stick out on the fender. Plus it puts the inside of the tire about in the same place as the originals, so there is no rubbing, and I get full range of steering.
