Suppressor? Do i need it?

I was doing some electrical on my m1008. In between the positive and negative terminal blocks mounted on the fire wall there was something broken off with wires coming both from the negative and positive. so i looked in the tm and i seen it just said it was a suppressor. what is that and do i need it?

The suppressors are for electrical noise suppression, it is just a capacitor. If you are not running radios they are not needed. the truck will work just fine without it.

uscg is correct, its not needed unless you have the military radios in the truck.
