Swollen plugs already.

Been in about a month. Went to pull one to see what the mechanic put in, and it hung up, tried the next, same.
Now what?

On an aside, was rolling around under it, cut out six inches of exhaust pipe on each side and installed flex pipe to allow the pipes to mate to the manifolds right. I've been having an issue where something shifts and it gets real loud up front. Hoping this will do it. Had to add a couple new hangers, spent the time to do it right. I didn't drop the pipes from the manifolds yet, as it is 2am and about time for a beer, half a sleeping pill, and something to eat as lunch is a distant memory.
Spent money I don't have on two of wal marts best battery's and ordered a DB starter. All needed. Looks like when I had the heads swapped a terminal got shorted and ate a chunk out of it and my new mil-spec batt. clamps. Now that battery is shorted across cells. Decided to replace both. I am left with a good mil-spec battery, 6tl I think it is? Won't fit my little rice patty tractor. I'd do a trade for a smaller one that will fit.
Still looking for a close to home 6.2 that is worthy of a swap into my truck. Found two, but both are states away. I'd rather buy closer only due to the shipping. I do at least feel I can trust the sellers as both are posters here and having been in contact they both seem upright and decent.

There is a glow plug removal tool , search that, there is even a video that is very informative. Also condidering resupplying with 12V to prevent future major failure.

Is your glow plug card in good working order?
Are you using a manual push button for your glow plugs?
Do you have the proper GP relay?
What GP's are you using?

You really have to find the problem before replacing the GP's and ruining another set.

No telling what the mech did if he did not use your plugs. If I get work done other than myself I use a good diesel shop that hates the 6.2 but will work on them and I make it clear what I want.

You might have got 13g's and if not probably the Wellman 70's. If you are not doing the work yourself I would be talking to the mech you used. 60g's and the gp resistor bypass work for me.

I hope you get her running right! You can't be cool if your CUCV is not running. :)

First move I make once I get a CUCV home is to swap the glow plugs with new, non-swelling ones. I don't care if the ones I'm pulling work or not.

Go back to that guy and ask him why he diddn't put the plugs in that you had for him to install. As said above, how do you know he even did the work? That is B-S big time! It's like you just can't trust anyone to do the right thing.:evil: Better off doing the work yourself and not getting ripped off. If I didn't live so far i'd come up and help you. Gotta be some members close to you that can help you straiten your truck out. Isn't there a surplus guy upstate called Alpine? Something like that. He might have access to GOV takeout engines. WP.
 
He swapped the heads, so doing the plugs was easy at that point. I believe he put something new in them. Monday I'll call and see if he has a plug puller. The truck needs to be re-ringed anyway. All for the defective kat freeze plug heater.
