Anyone tried to mock-up one of these? (Sorry couldn't find a better picture)

It looks like a mock-up would be fairly easy to make with some welding skill and a reasonable budget. Anyone tried this yet?
Also I am 99% sure that an original T27 mount is on display outdoors at the Field Artillery Museum at Ft. Sill, OK - this was 2008. I might even have pictures, this would a be a good pattern.
