Hey guys! Been a wile... Sold my two soft top hummers last year and regretted it. Finally picked up another wagon about a month ago but just can't get used to it.. How hard is it to swap the wagon top for the 4 door hard top or a soft top? Where would i find this stuff? Id do some trading but finding these is hard enough.

Just to confirm what you're asking, you have a Hummer H1 wagon (hard top from windshield to very back) and want to know how to turn it into a configuration similar to the mil trucks?

Yes basically. Not really sure how the Military version differs from the civl but i really want a hard top truck. I thought about cutting the back off and making a rear window and sealing up the bed and calling it good. I just think the wagon is so ugly. There hard hard hard to find in my area and price range so i got what i got..
if all else fails id take a nice soft top. it is what it is.

cutting up an H1 wagon is going to devalue the heck out of it, my suggestion is to find a 4 door hard top...good luck, or a soft top and add the 4 man hard top....I knew a guy in Georgia who had one. I recommend going over to humvee.net and asking there. You would be surprised how many folks have gotten rid of there soft tops for a wagon, as they are more desirable. There is a guy on the humvee.net market place who goes by CBR Metalworks who had the 4 man hardtop for sale...

Hmmm I wonder how hard it would be to put this on a military Humvee... If you are looking to part with it ;)
its been done...another reason for the occasional H1 wagon top available is it was removed due to rust and replaced.

OP, I check with my source, he sold the brand new 4 door door hard top a few months back.
post over on Humvee.net for H1 related stuff.

I posted up over there. Just the typical sell it and buy what you want... easier said than done

If i were to sell my top how much would it be worth?

No, that's what I said to do as well....the cost involved very well may make you rethink changing it over.
H1 parts are in short supply and pricey...Especially body parts and interior pieces.
done right, you can recoup a lot of your costs through the sale of the old parts.
post an add in the market place for trade or sale and your needs...

Agree I would not modify the wagon. I have a H1 wagon and M998 soft top. Looks like a lot of work and expense to switch. I think the wagon was the most popular H1 model and still should sell well although recent auction prices may have affected prices temporarily. There were around 12,000 H1s sold so not a common vehicle hence I would not modify.
