Temp Gauge quit

Trying to figure if its the sender or gauge itself. Can you test these like a regular 12v system (ie: ground wire from sender and see if gauge pegs) or is there some secret Uncle Sam testing apparatus the I need.<img src="emoticons/icon_smile_shrug.gif" alt="Shrug"><img src="emoticons/icon_smile_vconf.gif" alt="Very Confused"><img src="emoticons/icon_smile_smashed.gif" alt="Smashed">

I put a new Temp. Gauge in my Deuce, and I ran the engine about 20 min at 1500 rpm before the needle got to the first mark. I thought it was a bad gauge, because the one I took out was good. Then I remembered that it will take longer to warm up to operation temp just iddleing in the winter time. Not saying thats your problem, but just in case<img src="emoticons/icon_smile_question.gif" alt="Question">

no..mine has been out since at least october, I have just been neglecting my rig!! I already did the ground test, and no good. So I guess I need a Temp Gauge. Oh Well!!
