I've got to replace a pump on my M1008. I've got a lead on a pump that appears to have been rebuilt, but it's questionable. I thought about possibly getting the pump and chucking it up in the lathe, plumbing up a fuel supply and applying 12v to it and spin it up. Any thoughts?

I'd take it to your local ADS shop and have them stand check it. I don't think you want all that atomized diesel gas floating around in your shop. It'll choke you and become VERY flammable. 2cents

Well since I already pulled the dying pump, it was just as easy to pop the pump Corey (ca1517) had. It pumped fuel no problem, but it appears that the check valve had been "popped". I replaced it and drove the truck around this afternoon.

It's been really cold here today. Went outside to test it. Flipped the glow plugs on for about 10 seconds and bumped the starter. Fired up no problem.
