I would like to thank all of you for the advise posted on this forum. It made my 12/08/2014 pickup of a M1102 at Nellis AFB flawless.

Of particular help was:
  • Get a 3' piece of chain and quicklinks, because the pintle hitch places the trailer too far form the tow vehicle to use only the trailer chains.
  • Use the cheap Harbor Freight magnetic trailer lights instead of messing around with the wiring during pickup. Use zip-ties to secure the lights to the landing leg mounts.

Here are a few photos of the trailers at Nellis AFB on 12/08/2014. The photo of my trailer behind the Chrysler Aspen was taken at the Walmart that is just outside of the AFB.

It towed home well didn't it? Did you air up the tires to about 30 to 35 psi to stop the bouncing, that is something that folks forget about. Enjoy your new trailer!

It bounced like a basket ball when going over bumps. I knew better than to not add more air, but wanted to get home. Oddly enough, it towed very well and we could not feel the bouncing in the tow vehicle or see any lateral movement. I could only tell that it was bouncing by looking in the rear view mirror.

The tires on my Aspen look miniature in comparison those on the the trailer. I think it is time for me to get that Duramax pickup that I have been wanting. :)
