Well, my interest is piqued! I shall wait impatiently for the revelation...:p

I am wondering about the 3-hour trip. Are you doing the Stranraer-Belfast crossing, or one of the fast boats? In my younger days I did the overnight between Dublin and Liverpool fairly regularly, if I recall correctly that was about an 8-hour trip, a bit longer if it was rough.

Cheers

"OH yes . says I sort of..landrover nissen sorta!) Oh thats all right then else its £300 over 1 and not many bits of meters high!)) anyway it cost a LOT less (get it) so I arrives at the dock ferry and everyone is rushing about .............TAKING PICTURES OF IT..lol....and NOT asking silly questions like ERR thats not a landrover....car type!!) And off we (I) go up the ramp ((directed by a 'larffing' <blind>..marshall to the LORRY bay (bit). 3 hour crossing to U.K. I dive off to do the 255 miles home..(now discover the bl..dy heater is not wired up!! (and when I jury rig it..NOTHING!)and this in wind sleet and snow...ho hum Ive been awake 20 hours now...kin eck! off we go..sat nav sez 8 hrs arrive 8-50 am...then packs up! heck..so now I revert to "pigeon mode" STICK TO A ROADS and MOTORWAYS (yes?) YES! sez I to myself..(no else bieng there to listen) just trek north then east YOU WILL HIT HOME (eventually or somewhere near to I can reconize. do this on a tak easy...HMM..THREE tanks and £99 later I arrive at home..but guess what..? a very cold me Finds the time to be 7.30 am!! heck..It only ((ONLY??!!) took 6 hours..I go to BED! I just woke up and..( AT LAST) some pictures...Was going to post detail later..but here are some now
ACMAT (still on a "D" / notice not for civilian sale..(bit like humvee used to be.. special type and built only 44 enver built cost £144000 each. 6 cylinder perkins diesel engine 4 gears hi-low box DIFFLOCKS..winch . ex radio Pod with (spellings outside in the cold!) ESPACHIA? kerosine heater. two sets of air extraction fans. 24v interior lights. bed ,inverter. :24v-12v. military lights. also cab heater (when I fix it!) POWER steering. full AIR BRAKES. Edit errors

lost all the pics trying to edit. so should read " the lady says if it's over 1 meter (and some bits of a meter!) then It would cost 300..etc (not 99! ..(err..welll UALL guessed right here...(nudge nudge!))
I will take some pics of the engine later as i'm maxed out on pic posting.?
I drove a Steady 85-90 KPH. about 45-47 MPH? (you know them funny new foriegn measure things!)...I drove (only) where the engine was "on song" steady rythmic and nicely comfortable. Just a matter of sitting back relaxing and not looking at the time! and NOT thinking about the cold..tho I beat the weather which is / was forcast bitterly cold (-10s 17-s) today and onwards.
Of COUSE I did have my cold weather military clothing on..thank goodness.
BUT this does (is) harder as one....ages...(humph!!
OH..and I HOPE it DOES snow ..cuz then I will go PLAY....p.s. this vehicle has right hand drive which suits the U.K.
