The lock at the end of the chain

I have the U.S. marked lock on the chain for the steering wheel in my 09 and I'm wondering if finding a key is possible.

Cut the chain and take the lock to a locksmith. They can re-key it. The last one I did cost about $9.

I wish I knew you wanted them. I just scrapped 2 - 5 gallon buckets of them military US Lock padlocks that I accumulated over the years. I have a pad lock fetish that I at last count I had about 75 new locks in the box un-used. But let my kids lose the keys to a pad lock and I am ballistic. A man has got to keep his priorities in alignment.

Are these keyed alike as the 73Y2 ?

No each lock had its own separate key. The vehicle ignition keys were the same but the padlock chains on the steering wheel each had a different key. The master key was a bolt cutter.

Keys for these more often than not, have a trapezoid head.

I needed to open a lock that I no longer had the key for. It was on the rear doors of my pioneer tool trailer. One of those round locks that you can't get to to cut. I bought one of these.. https://www.lockpickshop.com/PXS-14.html.
Taught myself how it is done. Took about 15 maybe 20 minutes.

Looks like the key number is on the lock. Might be able to order a new key from Master. Kinda dumb to leave the key number on a lock.
