The potential end of my 1958 M54A2

My 5 ton doesn't have a parking brake to start, popped out of gear today rolled down my driveway a bit then turned right through 5 trees and jumped 10ft completely disconnecting the front axle from the frame of the truck. Looking into another 5 ton parts truck but this thing is beat. Oh well had fun with it until this.

Wow. Sorry for your lose. Good luck getting another one or repairing that one. I always use wheel chocks even sitting in my driveway. At least nobody was hurt.

Holy _____ No human got hurt, that is the main thing. A few good things in your favour

- truck did not roll. Fenders, roof, doors and other sheet metal looks relatively healthy. The mirrors are good
- the axles took a beating. While that is bad, it may have saved the frame. The rear axles might not even be bent.

Please let us know how this saga continues.

I had a bad week myself, truck-wise, don't want to talk about it, but I can relate to the sickening feeling, looking at the carnage.

Like everybody else said - THANK GOODNESS nobody was hurt! And there is some good sheetmetal still there. I can't imagine what it felt like to see your truck rolling down that hill... Maybe tomorrow will be better and it can be recovered.

Ouch. Here's hoping that it isn't as bad as it looks. As mentioned above, there is still a lot of good truck there. And there are sure to be donor trucks around. Good luck to you.

What I meant by rolled was it rolled on the wheels down the hill with no one in it. the front axle is solely attached by one shock on the passenger side and the driveshaft

Hopefully, it's repairable. I've seen worse that lived to see another day.
