well i'll have to wait and see. Our old 8.2 detroit's are non-turbo. They get the job done, but our turbo trucks sure seem to pull a lot easier. The slowest truck we have is an old Chevy C-75 with a gas 427 and the 5 speed main and 4 speed auxiliary transmission. I'm looking forward to only 5 gears after driving that!

My non turbo M109A3 gets to the redline quicker on a flat surface than my C turbo M35A2, but it has 900s on it and the M35 has 1100s, tire size makes a difference. Your M109 is loud because it has no turbo OR muffler, it should have one or the other, it looses speed on the hills because it weighs 1500lb more than the M35 and is less aerodynamic...

the 109 had the muffler on it, and yes it looses speed on the hills because it is heavy, but driving the same flat roads there is a HUGE difference between turbo and non turbo
