I have a M936A2 and I don't think the thermal valve mounted on the upper radiator hose that actuates the fan clutch is working correctly. Sometimes the water temp gets up to just over 200 degrees with no fan lockup/actuation. Is the thermal valve serviceable?? Is their a good source for replacement valves??

Mr SteelandCanvas sometimes JR, I believe the valve is completely mechanical on the Cummins 6CTA. Heat from the coolant opens the valve allowing air to travel to the fan clutch. No wires are attached to this thermal valve. Just has a pressure line and a feed line to the clutch.

My bad, I thought it was controlled electrically.
