This drivers side window is driving me crazy..Embarrassed to ask for help here..

First off..I searched this with no real luck...Maybe there is something and my ADD got the best of me, or maybe this is unique..So here it goes..I got an M1009 about two weeks ago....Window on the drivers side hasnt lined up right since. Everytime I crank it up, the glass will almost fall outside of the seal toward me, allowing it to bind up once I crank. I have taken the door panel off twice, lined it up, worked good...Until I got it back together, opened the window, then it fell out of the seal in the wind wing side...I dont know what I am doing wrong. I know the previous owner replaced all the seals on this door, dont know if something is misaligned, or if its a regulator, or what. Figured like most things, Im probably not the only one....Help is desperately appreciated, Im getting frustrated here.

If you remove the door panel. Do the window tracks feel secure towards the bottom or are they loose. If someone was in there they may not have put everything back together correctly. You may also want to check to see if the regulator is bent, allowing the window to have too much movement. Also check if all the rollers are in their tracks. Good luck.

bent, loose tracks or bad regulator

I would say that the lower guide arms are bent or loose.
when regulator goes, normally it is the gear, not the arms.
I just had my drivers side reg fail. it is the gears. I am replacing with electric windows.
If the rubber is new, I had to get some spray silicone to spray my tracks because they were to tight and thats what caused my regulator to fail.

If your door was taken appart, make sure they put all the screws back. the lower arm on the front part (vent window) is part of the vent window so if the window is tight the lower rail should be on that side.
The back (towards the latch) rail has two bolts that hold it, one is under the door panel and i beleive the other is on the side of the door above the latch.
The rear rail is most likely your problem, if they did not take the door apart right the may have bent it trying to get it out.

I have redone my doors once and are doing them again not to add electric windows and locks.

Thanks for the tip...I honestly cant tell if its the lower guide arms, or the vent window that is bent...Seems like the window wants to slide toward the inside of the door, about 1/2 inch from the vent window track. Nothing seems loose..Thinking of just buying a new regulator, track, and getting a vent window from the junkyard and throwing it all on and hoping that takes care of it

I just replaced my window track felt yesterday. What I had to do was push the window into the channel on the vent window and then adjust the "outside track" so the window is in the track as well. While you are in there and the door panel is off, lube all your tracks (the metal ones) and the window regulator with lithium grease.

Also- What is a good lube to help the window slide easier in the felt? I heard of something called "window dry lube" but I don't know where to turn. I don't want to screw it up because I am getting the windows tinted here in the next couple of months and don't need the residue messing with the tint.

The track on the other end of the glass - toward where the door striker is - has to be tight against that side of glass to keep the window pushed into the track that is attached to vent window. This also keeps the glass from tilting and binding. Make sure all the tracks are well lubricated with a waterproof grease so it does not bind. Hope that helps.

When I picked up my M1009 the vent window rubber on the drivers side was all new. The window was hard to roll up and would pop out to the outside so I had pull in on the top of the glass when raising the window to keep it in the track.

I replaced the felt track liners as they needed it. I put the window back in the tracks and held the tracks in place while I hand snugged the mounting bolts. There is room to allow movement of the front and rear tracks. I rolled the window up and down letting the window movement 'adjust' both track positions while making sure the window moved up and down in the tracks freely. Once I was satisfied with the window operation I torqued the mounting bolts and verified that I still had smooth and proper window operation.

The PO may very well have misaligned the window tracks when replacing weather seals as was done with mine. Try loosening everything (front and rear) and working the window up and down.

And yes something could always be bent making proper alignment impossible to achieve without replacement parts.

I read to lube the window channel felt with silicone spray. I did so and it made a difference. It's not as stiff, but I think I might still have the window too tight in the tracks. I am scared to run it too loose as I think it would cause a lot of slop. Any advise?

only one track adjustable

the track with the vent winow is not adjustable because it is fixed to the vent window assembly. there are two bolts, one on the side of the door and one just under the bottom of inner door cover. these two are the only adjustments you have. just loosen them a little and then work the window. you may need to make the screw holes a little larger or elongate them to get more adjustment. they were not designed for any adjustment but this you can overcome.

putting electric windows in mine now so is just pulled them apart for the 3rd time.
