Following. My ECM apparently just gave out randomly. I've been starting every few weeks for a minute just to keep things fresh. Go out one day and nothing. TIM wont recognize the ECM. It will recognize all of the other modules. Tested the 70 pin connector and i have power at pins 52 and 53 and grounds at 65 and 66. Took the ECM to a local truck shop that has Cat ET and he couldn't get any communication. Not a very tactical situation for a tactical vehicle.

Wonder of disconnecting the batteries, then using electrical contact cleaner and a stiff bristle toothbrush would help? Cleaning one area at the time so you don't mix up relays... Adding some anti-oxidation paste to each relay.

Not beating you down. Trucks will do that all on their own. Starting it for a minute at the time every few weeks isn't enough. I know fuel is REALLY EXPENSIVE, but maybe 30 minutes of "crank it up and drive" would be ever so much better.

My guess is that something somewhere has gotten damp. Might be humidity. Could be rain. Just guessing, but it is a good cheap way to start following the problem.

Welcome to the wonderful world known as Cat ECM's. One minute they work, next they don't....

No radiator in it. And the trans cooler lines are capped. AND, still trying to find my instrument cluster circuit board as that is needed for the charging system. So long to keeping it simple.

Bummer! Guess me not having all the facts made it easy to offer a suggestion. Yep, about a minute of two is about all you could have been doing. Still wonder if humidity has anything to do with the electrical connections... Maybe? I'd really be interested in knowing the solution to this mess.
