So it looks like I may be towing it back. Its about 25 miles from my house . Other than a flat bed any ideas on towing? I dont want to damage anything.

Un hook the drive shafts to both the front, intermeadiate and rear axles and you should be ok. If the axles can trun free from the rest of the drive train you'll be ok. Trust me I know. Flat towed my M211 when it died about 10 miles and I didn't pull the drive shafts and the stupid transfer case slipped back into gear and I finished wipeing out the motor and when I stopped after 4 miles due to smoke coming from the cab it vomitted gear oil all over the ground. Was not my best moment, but a learning experience that I now share with you. Pull the drive shafts and you'll be happy!

Ok, so the drives shafts are removed! Now my question is how much does the front end weigh. I am hoping that the tow truck guy can just hook up and hoist it up and drag it aways now. I didnt have a bar to fit the wrench under the cab so the front left tire is still flat. I cant wait to have it home.

if you tow with the front end up ,make sure you have air in all of the rear axle tires,wouldnt hurt if you took a couple tires off other truck and carried them along, I blew 3 tires on my M211 when i drove it home,lucky all were on rear axles,all 10 tires had 1950s dates on them,when i turned in my driveway battery slid over and shorted out,had to pull it rest of the way home with pops Ford tractor.LOL,good luck keep posting

OK, so i am back to the flatbed trailer. Best quote I got to haul it 26 miles was $450. So could one of you fine gentelman measure from outside to outside of both of the tow eyelets. I am going to make a jig to hold the 10k electric winch to the front and winch it onto the trailer. (after I hook the **** drive shafts back in). I figure a couple arms with some huge pins in it attached to the winch should do it.

27 inches on the back I would leave the front drive line out for now . you don't want any damage done to your transfer case simple pushing and pulling can lead to problems

Check the differential levels too! I paid $400 for mine shipped from Tucson to Yuma. 250 miles or so, on a 25' goose neck.

Having a friend come up this weekend with a 26ft dovetail gooseneck dual dual trailer rated at 25 k. The hard part is loading the little buggers up. My plan is that I will attached the 10 k electric winch via 2 2" square tube arms attached to the eyelets. Hopefully the rolling weight wont be too much for the winch. Can someone tell me what size the hole in the eyelets are also if someone could tell me the distance from the center of hole to the bumper they would be a hero.. Sorry to be a pain but every time I drive out there it burns about 2 hours of time.

Ya I was pretty unimpressed that the best quote I could find was $450 per truck, Everyone seems so scared of the truck.,.,..Tee hee I cant wait to drive one to Walmart on a saturday.

Or I might just belly up and pay the $200 to have the other one towed....:(. By the time I buy the steel, make the pivot brackets and buy the pintle ring, then add in the time....and gas.... . I dont think it will be profitable in the long run.

Load them on a trailer for the trip - all you need is a flat tire when you have these on a towbar. If you use a trailer, you KNOW you will make it. When I rebuilt mine, I got it good enough to load, then a friend of mine did the trucking. When it was in my shop, I could work on it piece by piece, instead of on the side of the road.

If I get time tomorrow I will make the trip out and pull the shafts and get it ready for the tow, On a side not I got to drain 28 gallons of ice tea colored fuel from it.....Bleh!! I am betting that once actually flamable fuel hit the carb it will run.

Both trucks are home! Got the second one towed by a local tow agency for $165. The more I look at the second truck I dont know what I will do with it. Its pretty rough. I will post family pics tonight. Going to take the carb off the parts truck and rebuild it.
