I have Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac 31 x 10.5 x 15's on my M1009. I've never had a problem with the tires rubbing.
Your leaf springs may be the cause of your clearance issue. They're probably flattened out, which lowers the height of the body above the axles.

It really shouldn't matter what condition the springs are in. Once the axle hits the bump stop, the tires take up the same space whether they came from 0.5 or eight inches below.
