Title associated to the tub or frame?

Hey Everyone,

I'm curious to know if when you buy a Humvee from military surplus. Is the SF97 linked to the body of the humvee like a normal car or the frame? I would like to buy just a tub and hood without a frame if possible but want to make sure I can still get it titled.

The Serial Number is on the inside of the Tub at the back of the Drivers door. When I had both my Humvee's Titled, that's where the employee went to verify. I have never seen anything on the Frame.

Military vehicles such as the hmmwv don’t SN the frame, the SN is assigned to the dataplate that is affixed to the left B-pillar. Civilian vehicles have the body and at least one frame rail with the VIN stamped into them.

I have numbers ??? stamped below the drivers window...just behind the washer bottle. Large heavy stamping on thick body angle.

Might not be what you're looking for. Not the same as Data Plate digits.

Pop the hood and check, CAMO

those numbers mean nothing in our world, they are mfg numbers to track the truck during its build
