I have had several of these trucks over the years and have never seen one with full top bows but no troop seats. Have you ever seen anything like it ? I can post a few picke tonight.

When I got my first truck it had the side racks without troop seats, 3 bow assemblies, and a piece of plywood cut in the profile of the bows with a doorway cut in it.

I still haven't scrounged all the troop seat parts I need, but the rest of it is there now.

I had just bows and uprights before I had the troop seats. Took 3 off for some reason in this pic.

Did you just have the stakes rattling around in the pockets or did you have a sleeve in there like the support from a troop seat?

If you look at this picture they show a bow pocket. Is this just the vertical support from a troop seat?

One of the trucks I got had the troop seats turned the wrong side out. I thought they might have just been put it wrong, but they were painted camo on the outside and were still OD green on the inside, so if you turned them aroung right, the colors didn't match up. I see in that picutre that there might have actually been a purpose behind it.

Thanks for sharing it.

When I was active my units cook truck had the troops seats turned out like that also. They used them like shelving when they set up in the field, one side was used to dry pots and pans and store them.

seen pics of troop seats outward and loaded to the hilt with all the ruc sacs and the cargo in the bed....seems to have been done alot, and why not makes sense, one does not need to worry about over width in a combat zone...or any manuvers for sure...:-D
