The only problem I've heard on taking the top off is that it doesn't seal back correctly when you put it back on. Everyone one I've ever spoken to has said that after they put the top back on it leaks. So I guess the moral of the story is either leave it on and never take it off or take it off and never put it back on.

Get a good quality new seal. Problem solved.

Folks try to reuse the original or get the LMC crap and it doesn't seal correctly.

Me personally I'm going the soft top route.
