I plan on leaving around 2am Sunday morning 1-18-15 headed to Jeepsinkers (Ft Polk) from San Antonio TX and Head back with the M936a2 Wrecker. Route is I10 to Lake Charles and then up 171 and Back. It shows around 5.5 hours (normal truck) so with any luck get there around 730am. I would like to get headed back as quick as possible, and maybe get back home before dark..

On the way back I am going to meet up with NDT in Houston. WhataBurger on the menu.

I will try to take photos on the way and post updates... Hopefully no calls for help....

Thanks
John

I'm sitting in my office in downtown Houston working towards tomorrow's deadline. I'd much rather be recovering an MV today.

Be safe and enjoy the trip. Honk on your way home as you pass downtown on I-10!

Met up with Tornadogt (John) today around 14:30. Wrecker was running like a champ, looked real good too. Snapped this pic as he was coming off I-10. Whataburger was super yummy too.

That Guy (The Green Chevy Truck) was riding my "Tail Lights" the whole way back I tried to loose him but that one is crafty..

All is well I got home just before dark. No major hiccups along the way, One head light is out and a few of the interior gauge lights bulbs are missing. I will spend some time over the next few days looking it over taking care of the little things. I am going to start a thread for it on clean up/Repaint (4-Color Desert Sand Camo) maybe a few mods (I think I am going to remove the Passenger side fuel tank and add a tool box in it's place. ) Just to start.

Photos. Thanks for everyone's help and support.

Nicely done. How did it pull that full size cheby?
I use a Medium TowBar, I'll take some photos of the brackets I fabricated up to use the 1inch (Deuce/5-ton) Feet.
It is 2wheel drive so I have to unbolt the drive-shaft from the rear-end and strap it up under the truck. It can be set up and towed in 15mins or so..

Garrett (Jeepsinker) the truck ran well and didn't seem to starve for fuel with the new filter. It is still sluggish at low RPM's but a bit of pump adjustment will take care of that too.

So did you buy the wrecker to pull your forklift out? Looks like its sitting at an odd angle ...

Nice truck by the way, glad the recovery went well. [thumbzup]

Yes, I got the Forklift a few months ago (Tire is now flat) with a motor nock. the plan was to get it over to our overhead crane to pull the engine. BUT when the rollback dropped it off in that exact spot I didn't realize that I can not steer it without it running so I can't just drag it to the back side of the shop where I need to repair it.. Problem solved now, It does have Lifting loops as it is also a Former MV.

Fuzzytoaster, Thanks for the link, the Hydraulic motor on this truck look like it was replaced at some point not to long ago (it is green and the rest of the truck is tan Repainted less than 600 miles 10 years ago RRAD) It does have the hole plugged in the bottom so that mod is needed..
Thanks Again.
