I have to move my deuce , it is a 1953 REO
M-49 gasoline tanker , which has the sprag
transfer . it will be towed 4 miles with a heavy
wrecker ,so the front axle will be off the ground.
My question is ; do I need to remove the front drive line before towing ? Thanks , Kris

Short answer: No.

If you don't remove the front propeller shaft, then one (or both) front wheels will be turning, that's all.

that is a very short tow so this won't matter, but you want the trans in any gear so it won't turn and the transfer in neutral. this will prevent trans damage from lack of oiling.
