Install extra batteries in driverside tool box.
hook up sensor in brakeline for controller.
Install cable with civi connector to rear.

Note the diagram. You will need to run two converters for your system. A 24-12 in the cab to run the brake controller and one in the trailer to power the 12 volt battery for the breakaway function. Get a smaller charger for the trailer end of things. Power this with the K-Pin off your 12 pin cable.

I strongly suggest one of the better inertia type brake controllers. That'll tell you if you have a wiring problem before you need the brakes. Plan on the brake system having a separate wire connection path from your 12 pin connector.

This setup, if assembled correctly with good wiring practices and proper functioning brakes works well behind the military trucks. I pulled just under 10,000 lbs with my deuce nicely and safely with no muss or fuss. Make sure your system can drag the trailer tires under full manual brake load with an empty trailer. All wheels should lock up for your test function. Then go from there to be sure. You should be able to stop the truck with the trailer brakes (again under manual) and a load on the trailer, just not fast of course.
