I sold my m1009 to get a truck. The truck fell through, I missed my 1009 terrible. I fianally am putting together 4 military parts truck to make a good one right now. I also have a somewhat rotted 1009 I'm parting out. It runs perfect, can be repaired. I'm tempted. Still miss the blazer.

both have there good points.in the long run it would be better to have both.the m1031 is the ultimate cucv though.it has all the heavy duty components and is extremely handy to have around.

I'd give my M1028 up if the "right" M1009 in very nice shape showed up. I doubt I'd need the strength of the Dana 60 as I don't hit the trails that hard. I mostly daily drive. It'd be a hard decision for me though since my truck just past 2400 original miles and has been hanging out in a cave for the past 23 years in Norway.

I have both 1008/1009 they both are great, but if I prefer the 1009 for my daily drive it rolls and steers easier.
The ride is much better in the 1009 more under cover storage.
The other nice part is 60 to 65 verses 50 is a nice thing also.
But if you need a truck then that's simple answer.
I have an eight foot snowplow on the 1008,that works very well.
