Never seen it done fcfred, but that doesn't mean you can't be the first. Why are you considering doing this? If it is because you bed is mangled or rotted off, you could always get a civi one and spray-bomb it.

I think there would still be a good size gap between the front part of the trailer bed and the back of the cab (in the prespective of aligning up the wheelwells). Were you thinking about welding in some filler panels? What trailer, like a M105?

my bed is fine, but I just like the looks of the square box on the trailer more than the current bed. I guess the idea came from Soni Honnegers old War Wagon ramcharger project.

Perhaps the M101 bed would be most suited as it's 8' long. Most commercial trucks require a 60" cab to axle length where the M1008 is only 56". You can reverse the springs and move the axle back 4 inches if that help center it in the wheelwells of the trailer bed.

Hmm.... is that how they got the 135 wheel base on the cab and chassis?
