Did your guys buy insurance for your trailer(s)? I went to renew my trailer registration and I told DMV that I didn't have insurance card for the trailer but I had insurance policy with me. DMV told me that the tow vehicle insurance should cover the trailer. I went to Allstate, the agent said the tow insurance will cover the trailer in term of liability. However, the tow vehicle insurance policy will not cover the damage or lost of the trailer. Will you buy the trailer insurance?

Thanks,

Depends on what you are hauling with it. I have a personal equipment trailer that hauls my TD15 dozer. It is insured in case I am at fault in an accident. If you are not at fault then a 3rd party claim on the trailer and its cargo can be filed thru their insurance without notification to yours if your primary vehicle is not damaged

Unless you are in a "No Fault" state like Michigan you can only get a $1000 here max from the other guy not his insurance.
