If I want to pick up an item at a base do I have to have a seperate insurance card for my trailer? My insurance just includes this coverage with my truck. Would I need to get something special from them to show the trailer is also insured? I don't know how picky these places are.
Thanks.

Nope not at any base or for that matter any place I've been. There is cargo insurance and wrecker have insurance for their loads but nothing a gate guard would check for. Wayne

So the insurance card for my pickup should be enough?

Driver licence, registration and insurance card is all I carry. I also have a copy of the receipt for wharever I'm picking up. But it will be best to check on-line about the base you are going to. Wayne

RE: insurance

Make sure your trailer's tag isn't expired... don't ask me how I know this

when pulling a trailer, unless its commercial, its covered by your trucks automotive policy
That's good to know, 'cause I guess I'm gonna be headed to Ft. Mead to retrieve a M1008!

RE: Re: RE: insurance

On the way home from the Bruce Post VFW MV meet this weekend I found and purchased a M107A1 water buffallo. It is in really nice shape. Today I called JC Taylor about insurance for it and I was told that their insurance policy on my deuce DOES NOT allow pulling a trailer. I informed them that I would be switching insurance carriers.
