I was just wondering if there was any other way to identify my truck besides the data plate on the dash because i dont think it is the right one for my truck

The frame number will tell all. I've seen many trucks with the wrong data plate.

where can I find the frame VIN on an M35A2? I'd like to know for sure who built my truck and when.

The vin is stamped into the frame. Check the frame rail at the drivers side front. Found this using search function, theres also pictures if you need them.....

heres where mine was driver side just ahead of axle

Mine is behind front axle on driver's side written in WELD on the frame rail. Easy to spot, easy to read. I'm thinking of painting the raised weld bead to highlight it. 'Dunno why, just want to.

The vin is stamped into the frame. Check the frame rail at the drivers side front. Found this using search function, theres also pictures if you need them.....

On older models the VIN can also be stamped on the passenger side to the right of the shock mount (looking straight at it).
On my deuce, this is the case. The VIN was buried under many coats of paint and not easily visible. Don't sand the paint off with a grinder if the VIN isn't visible or diffuse, as it might ruin the stamping. I used liquid paint remover and thinner.

It also sometimes helps to pin down an approximate ( notice approximate) year by checking all three axle tags or stampings for build dates. If all three are the same, then probably ( notice probably) this an approximate ( notice approximate) build date for the frame and axles. Motors and trans come and go but frames stay the same.

Carnac, I'd be glad to post my VIN on your thread to find out the year but I need to know where to find the number on the frame.

I'd also like to know where to check my brake fluid if you happen to know.

You can also take a DNA sample from your truck and submit it to CARNAC for testing.............but lately due to his mentsl meltdowns it may take longer than expected to get the results back.....
