Im with you guys. i love the look of dual stacks but i was also going for sound. my dads p30 step van with the 6.2 in it has straight pipes. its crazy loud but im not a big fan of the clapping noise that it makes at higher rpm's. 1 stack also keeps the price down:)

Both sides are run into the one pipe. i didn't have a y pipe and couldnt find a dual 2 1/4 into 1 four inch anywhere so we went ahead and welded a piece of flat steel onto the end of my 4 inch flexpipe, cut two 2 1/4 inch holes in it and welded the pipes directly to that. i try to get a coule of pics of that as soon as i get a chance.

Nice fab work. I was expecting an obnoxious exhaust note however it sounds nice and mellow. Sounds like like serious torque under the hood. Have you noticed a gas mileage increase?

Yeah dad has a P30 with a 6.2. We put new pipes on it like 3 years ago and we went ahead and left the mufflers off it. At idle it sounds awesome, it's very deep and strong sounding. However, when it gets up there in the rpm's it starts "clapping" like crazy. It is very loud. My brother didn't want his truck to sound that way, he wanted to keep it sounding like a diesel so we decided to try a single stack instead and we are very happy with the way it sounds. I don't know about the gas mileage, I'll have to work on getting him to check it.
