Turbo?

Has anyone done a turbo conversion on their CUCV? I noticed that the M1009 is slow on long inclines and steep mountains, especially with a trailer. Would adding a turbo help with this? How about gaining a little power at higher elevations?

usually you can pull the same hill in 3rd gear that you were able to pull in 2nd gear before the turbo.

You would also pull alot better on the long hills if it werent for the 3.08 gears.....

Where can I find a turbo setup and how much would it cost?

all said and done, you are looking at around $1500 to install one.
this includes buying the kit used and having the turbo rebuilt, plus all the odds and ends.

you can either buy a banks kit that was made for the 6.2, or the other option is to get all the turbo components from a 6.5TD and they will bolt right on.
