Yours should have had a self-cancelling type lever assembly.

There is an LED bulb for the indicator that is much brighter. It needs to be a special BA9S reverse polarity bulb in order to work though.

Get a real military self cancelling lever which are expensive and hard to find. The Chinesium ones that are prevalent suck and require a lot of force to self cancel and so often break the tabs on the cancel ring. The real military ones are require very little force to self cancel and so do not break the tabs on the ring.

Most of the rings out there are 3D printed and not very strong. To strength them up, I drilled a small hole going through the center of each tab and screwed in a small screw.

ok..... ABOUT SELF-CANCELING

ok I do have self-canceling and it works very well, the problem though is when you are going straight (Maybe on a highway) and you decide to shift lane... maybe 2 lanes, you put your turn light and because you never steered hard enough the self-canceling gizmo will not engage, 10 minutes later you realize you been driving with your turn signal on like a moron. That is why a very bright LED or an audio device would be good for me.

DREDnot, can you give me a link or more specs on that bulb so I can look for it on the internet...?
And why does it need to be REVERSE POLARITY....?

4pcs White LED BA9S *Reverse Polarity* bayonet bulbs | eBay

Something about how the indicator flasher works in the turn signal circuit in opposition to flashing signal. An incandescent bulb works regardless of polarity. LEDs tend to be polarity sensitive and wont work in the hmmwv lever. Someone on this forum posted about that specific reverse polarity bulb and I was able to get mine working bright enough to see in the day time.

But since it is well below your eyeline an audible signal of some sort would be preferable in our day to day non-tactical commutes
