alrighty then, with #21 the front ones will come on with the taillights (which they do as parking lights) and with #16 they will come on with the headlights (which they Don't with service lights). Clear as MUD. with the diode to #16 the only change is the lights also come on with the head lights and everything else is the same. without the diode to #21 anytime the taillights are on the front lights are on. RIGHT!!

The end result is the same. The way you get it, is different. Adding the diode, you add an electrical component(that can fail) to get the same result as just using a jumper wire that gets you the same end result.

The choice is yours, how you want to modify your system. I prefer simplicity. That is why I posted the alternative(over using a diode) method.

The difference is, some guys want to maintain the parking light only situation where you can have the parking lights on without the headlights, thats when you use the diode method. Other guys don't ever use that switch position so it doesnt matter if your back feeding the headlights, they're on anyways.

When you hook them up to #21 they come on with the tail lights. That way you still have the parking lights Not back feeding the head lights.

I think your incorrect in what they are doing with the diode.

Using the diode, they are energizing the park light, off the headlight power, and using the diode to keep from powering the headlights, in the Park position.

Either way you do this, you still have park only or headlights on with parking lights on also.
