Buy you some .005 shim stock from a machine shop supply. Add one shim at a time behind the spring. This will not change the spring's rate. It will only keep the gate from opening as soon. Do this one shim at a time untill you get the desired results. Don't go overboard. Or you will end up with little chuncks of head gasket all over the firewall. Please don't ask how i know this. You really don't want to know!
