Are the bearings sealed on the m1114 style turrets? What's recommended for maintenance to keep them spinning freely, along with the other moving parts like lock and hand crank.

Lock and crank get any type of oil you desire. The bearing is sealed so just keep it out of the water. The mil pm mag shows tarps covering the trucks when not in use
