I see all these rallies in PA and CA, but nothing for us Texans (yes, I know we are welcome at most of your rallies) but I'd like one within 200 miles or so from Dallas. Surely, there has to be something??

I know there is one in Big Bend, but that is a loooong way from Dallas.

If you host, I'll attend...
the first thing that came to mind when I saw this was that joke about a guy who moves to a house out in the country. His closest neighbor comes over and invites him to a party he's having on Saturday.
"Great, I love a party!"
"Now, there will be a lot of drinking."
"That's ok, I love some cold beer"
"I gotta warn you, there's apt be be some fighting, always is."
"Ok, I can hold my own. No problem"
"You know, there's gonna be a lot of sex too."
"That's awesome! What should I wear?"

"Doesn't really matter, only gonna be the two of us."

The Texas Rally is held each March in College Station. Here is a link to the most recent rally thread:

I don't know. I went to Texas Tech and we have a special "Love" for the Aggies. From 89 on for about 20 years we had the most brutal rivalry. (Tech did, the Aggies saved their love for ut) And Tech won probably 75% of those games in that time span. No matter how good they were or how bad we were, we showed up and played.

So, the statute of limitations on stuff we may or may not have done in College Station may or may not have run out yet. I'm not even sure I was a part of it. But its best to be safe safe rather than sorry.

Ok, just kidding. I actually really like A&M. Have a lot of respect for that school. And as far as I know I have never caused any trouble there.

I said, as far as I know.

Thanks Charlie 6, that could be a good excuse for an impromptu get together. June in Tulsa is beautiful ... (he said sarcastically). But, hey, could be fun despite the heat and humidity.

Is there any offroad opportunities in that part of the world or within a reasonable radius?

We could always try the off road park near Bridgeport, TX. It isn't too far west of DFW. I know the park allows camping either the second or third Saturday of the month. Perhaps they will allow a military rally some weekend. The North Texas Military Vehicle club has gone a few different times and had a great time.

That sounds like a good idea. It's close to everyone in the DFW area and accessible to OK and west TX guys too. Is there a website? Never heard of it.

I also looked into it and asked a friend to go with me to check it out. Have not made solid plans yet, but, it like looks like fun. Also looks like a place that is geared toward jeeps and smaller vehicles. Some of the posts on the off-road forums say some of the trails are not for stock vehicles.

I guess we should go and see!

Does anyone want to make a trip trip with me one weekend to check it out as a possible DFW area meet? Reply here or send PM.

The offroad park is geared towards the jeeps and rock crawlers. Not many people have military trucks. Still a number of trails and water for military trucks though. Funny to watch the teenagers bring dad's new Rubicon out to the park only to have to stall in 3 ft of water. I can head out with you some weekend.
