Under dash Light

While i was hooking up a 12 volt power outlet (cigarette lighter) i found a light under the dash by the passenger side, its mounted there for something but i have no idea what, any ideas?

inside light... put a new bulb in it.. it only turns on when you turn the headlight switch all that way over..

I have the same underdash light and it works. Does anyone know if there is a red bulb available to replace it? I plan on installing a couple more and want to use red bulbs.

Standard on CUCVs and i'm pretty sure that is a standard feature on civi trucks as well. Those lights are good for nothing more than finding your bowling ball on the floor of your truck in the daytime. My advice is to install a dome light.

Mine works and when it is dark it helps.

This is my dome light from AO Safety, it is magnetic so i can place it where I need it and it doubles as a flashing emergency light.
