I don't mean to knock it, it was a great movie but now all I see are multiple, multiple errors,
They did use as much "real" footage as they could but there are Japanese dive bombers coming in for an attack with no bombs etc.
The footage of the B25s approaching Japan to bomb showed there were already fires burning obviously the area where they got the footage had damage from earlier raids. Of course I don't think any of the B25s were ever recovered so even if they had cameras there would have been no footage.
Hal Holbrook's "southern" accent was way over the top, but the dang movie had just about everyone but Clint Eastwod in it, even ol Ponch from Chips
