Valve Leaking on side of Wet Tank

I noticed the wet tank would run out of air and yet the primary and secondary had air. I used the suggested soapy water spray and found this part leaking.

In the pneumatic diagram I see a manual valve, a low pressure switch and a pressure protection valve connected to the wet tank.

Can someone tell me what this is?
I read one post that called it Haldex Outflow Valve but I could not find any such part with Internet searches.
I would appreciate the part number and a vendor who might have one so I can get a replacement? Many thanks!

I believe it is a sort of pressure protective valve that opens to allow air flow at a set pressure and closes if the air tank pressure is low. There is a good chance you can take it apart and put new o rings in it.

Mine was leaking at the same place, i took it apart and used some black rtv to seal the diaphragm to the valve body. I contacted haldex, the exact replacement is not commercially available, haldex recommended a 70psi pressure protection valve. If you go that route you will need some adapters since the commercially available part had smaller ports.

Mine was leaking yesterday! But get this, mine was whistling to me saying "here is the leak"! Good advice to take it apart, clean it up, and reassemble. That fixed mine. You do not have to take it off the tank (EVERY piece has to disassemble to get it completely off). Just watch for spring loaded parts. The real problem, at least with mine, was the cover with the two screws is slightly warped allowing a gap midway between the screws on each side. Applying a little sealer to the edges of the rubber disc sounds like a great idea. If mine leaks again I'll lap the mating surface to compensate for the warpage.

BTW, this kind of valve is common on Unimogs too. Application is to force necessary air circuits to build pressure first before allowing air to pass through to less-necessary circuits. Called an 'over pressure valve' by MB, it sets to some pressure just like a regulator does, but is not a regulator. The over pressure valve simply dumps air into another circuit when pressure coming in is high enough to displace the rubber disc and open the outlet in the center of the disc. Not to much to it, but very important.

This valve leaking can quickly cause CTIS failure too because the pressure switch for the CTIS source is on the same wet tank. In fact, that's the CTIS pressure sensor right above the over pressure valve. There's no gauge on the wet tank so we don't know the pressure is too low to suit the CTIS.

The valve on my truck is a Midland 314107013 but I find no results from a search for that number.

The pressure should be set at 70 psi, from what I could tell when mine was apart was the pressure could be adjusted. Turning the screw in should increases the pressure that the valve closes.

I have the same issue. May I ask how you used the RTV? Did you roll the edges of the rubber diaphragm in it to make it a little bigger or did you put a bead around the edge of it while it was in the housing and it didnt stick to the sides?

Called Haldex, they said part is good in stock but referred me to a distributor for purchase. CBT Corp. was the vendor. My "protection valve" had a hairline crack in the diaphragm chamber portion of the cast body.

Thanks for the effort ELovell. I just received two of the Haldex valves from CBT. Not installed yet, but they look correct.

BTW, this is the same over-pressure valve used on a 406 Unimog, and therefore 'might' be applicable to an SEE FLU-419 excavator too.

When you get this installed please report on how well it works. If it seems to be a good fit and operates well for a good test period then we can add it to the Parts Spread sheet.

Anyone that has a suggested part to put in the spread sheet (the one that is a sticky) CC me as well when you send the info to Simp. There is two extra folk now whom have access to the spreadsheet for updating to lesson the load on Simp. Second person with access will pipe in if they wish to open themself up for receiving input from others.
