We drove with the Arizona Military Vehicle Collectors Club (AMVCC) today in the Phoenix parade. My wife drove the M1028A1, I drove the M275A2 with the MEP006A / M200A1 in tow. We started at the Phoenix VA Hospital. Many Vets from the hospital came out to view the trucks before the parade. It was an honor to have participated.

Just plain awsome!!! Wish we could get something like that going here in northern Michigan. I think the snow storm would have made it hard but maybe some day..
Is that 900 series with the howitzer privately owned?? Nice!!!!!! :driver: [thumbzup]

Here's a few more pics. The parade was 3 miles long, over 200,000 spectators, and over 100 units participating (our 25 or so trucks made up 1 unit). Huge parade. Lot's of MV's both active and retired.

The 900 & Howitzer were from the AZ National Guard.

The M198 howitzer and the 900 series five ton were what I was on in the first gulf war. The howitzer is a little over 15000lbs and would push the five ton around in corners and braking. You would fry a clutch and get pushed through intersection with a deuce out front. You can see the lights clamped to the end of the tube. We never used them and only hung a chemlight from them. It you got too close the tube would enter the cab of the following truck right at eye level through the windshield.
I almost forgot. It is a 155mm bore and could reach out and touch someone about 25 miles away.

You guys are great for participating in the parade! Hey on those WWII Airborne soldiers, is it common to carry/display appropriate firearms if ya got 'em or are they generally deactivated or replicas? Anyway I love the MEP generator set!
