VIC-3 intercom cable hookups

On the VIC-3 Lite, do you have to make a complete loop of the system. If you have just a two man setup, could you just run one highway cable from the station out on the MCS/L to the station in on the FFCS/L for it to work or does it need to be a loop back around?

Or from just the station in on the MCS/L to the station out on the FFCS/L?

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not an expert, but the only reason it needs to have a full loop is in case there is an issue. I recently hooked up a VIC-3 Lite in my LMTV & it is not looped.

Works fine not looped.
