i chatted with them today and they told me that the sf 97's went to the gov for a signature dec 11 and they did not have any info on what #s were on them and said that thier people were
diligent with the numbers and to keep my fingers crossed. These are both 1991 tooele rebuilds without the mfg. or year on the data plates and it looks like someone got messy with the metal stamp on the 3. By the way the lady on the chat did seem to try and she did take her time researching the deal. I contract for a fortune 500 company and the big ones are sometime the hardest ones to deal with !!!!

When you get the SF97 and it is wrong, call and file a complaint. You will have to send the SF97 back in and they will have to issue you a corrected one (should be no cost). Only thing you are out is time but that is a whole lot better than trying to get this corrected a few months or even years from now. I had them issue me a SF97 with the wrong manufacturing date so I've lived this before.

Roger that sir. They couldnt even tell me that i had the option of questioning the sf97. I want to get this right because these trucks are in really nice shape and I want to keep them and care for them properly. Thanks again o wise one !!!!

If the sf97 comes back wrong, call and ensure you send it back via registered mail or ups or fedex

ensure you have signature required.

btw: Stock number is the same as NSN (National Stock Number) 2320-01-123-6837. When spoken in military terms the digits should be read off with pauses only where the dashes are. 2320 is the federal supply classification. 01 is the national identification code with 00 and 01 belonging to the United States. I think 99 is the UK and 21 is Austria, don't know the others off the top of my head. The remaining numbers are the unique item code. The NIIN is the National Item Identification Number. It consists of all the numbers except for the Federal Supply Classification (ie 01-123-6837 but is normally done without the dashes).

It is what the company was at that time not what they are today. I would think they would be Kaiser Jeep.
