VIN Location

Curious, is the vin # located anywhere else on the M1008/1028's? I know the placard in the door, but does it have the usual strip in the dash? Looking at this 1028 about 1200 miles away and the dude sent pictures but one has me puzzled...

Note the rivets look removed.

Just making sure I'm buying a 28 and not an 08. He's hiding the VIN for some reason. Any known scams out there?

BTW, he also sent a fuzzy pic of the other placard and it looks like there's a 1028 on it.

The Chevy CUCVs have the 17 digit vin on the dash

NSN indicates M1028, and the rivets are there.

The 1028 will have HD in the first half of the VIN #(an M1008 will not). Look at the dash, like a normal pickup truck.
